According to the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA), US beer sales peak in the week of July 4th. This certainly does not surprise regulars to associate cooking hot dogs with an ice-cold beer near the can or keg.
This, however, raises questions about our collective habits of drinking and drinking. Do most Americans drink beer at home on some occasions, such as Super Bowl Sunday? What about long weekends? Are there days or nights of the year when most of us go out and deposit money in bars and restaurants?
Retailers use the terms "on-site" and "off-site" to refer to purchases made outside the home and at home, respectively. In these charts, we compile the data collected by NBWA and the Fintech beverage consulting firm, which analyze on-site and in-store beer sales in 2016.
