Watch: Amy Poehler's Netflix comedy in the "country of wine" now has a trailer
In case you do not know about last year, Amy Poehler and some of her "Saturday Night Live" actors are about to be featured in a Netflix comedy. On Thursday, the long-awaited movie trailer was finally released on YouTube. At first glance, it looks like a hilarious hybrid between "Sideways" and "The Hangover".
Called "Wine Country", the film's cast includes Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell and Emily Spivey, as well as an appearance by Tina Fey. The plot revolves around a group of longtime friends and a long weekend in Napa Valley to celebrate his 50th birthday.
The comedy marks the debut of Poehler's director and the script is written by Emily Spivey, with whom she collaborates with "Parks & Rec" and SNL, as well as Liz Cackowski, also of SNL.
In an interview with Vanity Fair in March, Poehler revealed that the plot of the film was based on the actual travels of friends, one of which had been spent in an Airbnb in Napa Valley for the 50th anniversary from Dratch.
The film stops on May 10th, which leaves you plenty of time to find someone with a Netflix account on which to mop up. In the meantime, enjoy the (hilarious) trailer below.
